Effective July 1, 2017, the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has implemented mandatory entry-level training for commercial Class A truck drivers. All new drivers attempting the Class A road test on or after July 1, 2017 will have to successfully complete the mandatory entry-level training course before attempting their Class A Road Test. Mandatory entry-level training will be delivered by:Ontario Career Colleges registered under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 in Ontario.

CLASS “A” LICENSE– TRACTOR TRAILER

You are qualified to drive any tractor-trailer combination and may also drive vehicle in Class D and G. This Program is a Vocational Program & approved under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.

TRACTOR TRAILER MELT PROGRAM

Are you unemployed or looking for a new career in an industry that is in demand? Many companies are looking for professional truck drivers that have graduated with their road tests Class A or DZ licences (for driving tractor trailers and large trucks). This comprehensive MELT 104 hours program is the Mandatory program that was introduced in 2017 and can only be offered throught recognized authorities approved by MTCU and Ministry of transportation. This program includes 4 to 5 weeks of full time training of in class, in yard and in truck instruction that are set by the Ministry of transportation. Duration: 104 Hours over 5 Weeks Current Promotion: Save 10% for limited time offer only This program includes all mandatory objectives set forth in the Ministry of Transportation’s Commercial Truck Driver Training Standard (Class A), released July 2017. This program includes both classroom and practical training. The hands-on training takes place in the yard and on the road using a tractor-trailer, while under the instruction of a qualified trainer. Students will also engage in various classroom activities to help prepare for a career as a professional driver.
